The City of Kupreanof asked the Borough to distribute the equivalent of what they would have received in PILT funds had the Borough not been formed. The last PILT payment to Kupreanof represented approximately .69% of the total PILT funds to the Borough. 14-272 1I. ReportRecommendations to Issue a Request for Proposals for Engineering and Design Services for Development of a Small Vessel Haul-Out at Scow Bay Turnaround In 2011, the Planning & Zoning Commission, Harbor Advisory Board and City Council approved a conceptual design for a small vessel haul-out including a wash-down pad and filtration system at the Scow Bay Turnaround property. Up until June 2013, the Scow Bay property was owned by the State of Alaska. Now that the Borough has acquired the property, the Petersburg Economic Development Council, with support of the Harbors and Port Advisory Board, has recommended that the Borough move forward in soliciting an RFP for engineering and design for the development of the property. PEDC would fund the design phase of the project. 14-300 1A. ReportSeptember 22, 2014 - City and Borough of Wrangell Letter The letter is to our Federal Delegation (Murkowski, Begich and Young) urging them, as members of the International Joint Commission, to explore a process that would trigger the Joint Commission's review and study of any mines proposed for development in British Columbia. Such a review process would give opportunity to ensure that Southeast Alaska communities' interests in protecting area salmon streams and rivers are considered for each mine development. The letter is similar to the concerns voiced in the Petersburg letter sent to the Canadian government and our Federal Delegation in June 2013 and our August 18, 2014 written comments to the Kerr-Sulphurets-Mitchell (KSM) mining project.presented  Action details Not available
